In our offices we have a shelf of unused small group video curriculum. I often am asked to recommend a study for a group, but I have a really hard time encouraging any group to use that outdated stuff. That’s why I’m so excited about a new downloadable video curriculum for small groups called Convergence.
Creative Trust Media has designed a series of lessons that tackles the issues a Christ follower faces today. Convergence provides a group leader the chance to design a study that will meets the needs of the group. Each lesson includes a video lesson that’s hosted by Donald Miller of Blue Like Jazz fame, a participant guide and a leader guide. The guides are freely downloadable and the video lessons are available to download for only $3.99, or you can order the entire DVD set for $84.00.
Each lesson features a prominent Christian thinker who will challenge your group. I previewed a lesson from the Breaking the Ice:Learning to Share Our Stories series called "Scenes of Redemption and New Life" featuring Donald Miller and Phyllis Tickle.

The thing about this lesson that resonates with me is that so many people believe that you have to “know” stuff to witness to other people, but this video and the questions that follow lead you through the thought that your story of what God has done in your life can be a powerful witness and will influence others for Christ. In a group setting this would be a powerful lesson!
The first 25 of you who visit www.allthingsconverge.com from my post today (November 5, 2010) will get one free video download. You must enter the promo code Gibson to download your free video. Take a look and see what you think.
If you want to learn what others are saying about Convergence, follow the blog tour that small groups guru Greg Bowman has put together. The next stop on the tour is at Eddie Mosley’s blog, Simply Community. His review will be available on November 8th.
